(WATCH) Biden Energy Advisor Says It’s “Just Factually Not True” That Gas Prices Were Rising Before Ukraine Invasion

Biden Administration energy advisor Amos Hochstein said Wednesday that it’s “just factually not true” to claim that gas prices were increasing before the Ukraine invasion earlier this year.

Hochstein made the statement despite the fact that gas prices increased by over a dollar per gallon from Biden’s first day of office to the start of Russia’s military intervention.

“When Joe Biden took office, gas was at $2.39/gal. On Feb. 24 – the day Russia invaded Ukraine – gas was $3.54/gal.,” RNC Research tweeted.

Watch Hochstein’s interview on Fox News:

Hochstein’s statement is a flat out lie.

During a CNN appearance, Hochstein claimed $4/gal. is a good thing since it decreases from $5/gal.

“Biden senior energy adviser Amos Hochstein shamelessly touts $4/gal+ gas prices as “remarkable.” Gas prices are still $1.77/gal HIGHER than when Biden took office,” RNC Research tweeted.

Jennifer Granholm, Biden’s energy secretary, said the upswing in energy costs are the reason why a “transition” to green energy is needed.

In reality, the Biden Administration’s destruction of American energy independence is the reason for the “transition.”

“CNBC later called out Hochstein on this, noting that Biden stated all along that he was going to shut down the fossil fuel industry,” Summit News stated.
